iPod Earbuds & Headphones At home I prefer to use headphones. There are good headphones and there are great headphones and there are "closed" and "open" headphones. Good "closed" headphones are the Sennheiser PX 100 which are light, well made, they fold for travel, and my iPod sounds great with them. The Sennheiser PMX 100 are good behind-the-head style. For great headphones there are the Sennheiser HD-595 and the Grado SR225. Connecting iPod to A Home Stereo Belkin makes

Connecting iPod to A TV or Entertainment Center iPod : Cover Art iPod : Vial of Life My taste in music is quite eclectic. I like good sounds of just about every type, style, and kind of music, whether it be rock, classical, world, hip-hop, country, jazz, or experimental. From Eminem Music has been a big part of my life. Like most people I have songs that I associate with different events and times in my life. I guess that is why movies always have music from the time of the story. American Graffiti iTunes Music store not only has a free song every week, this week I see free episodes of Scrubs, The Real World, My Bare Lady, Golf Strategies, One Punk Under God, and the music of James Taylor, Los Super Elegantes and previously: Danielle Peck, Sugercult, Teddybears, Barlowgirl, Latoya London, Lily Allen, Nelly, and others. iPod for Exploration Musicians are called upon to help us celebrate and to help us heal. Although a good home stereo system or an iPod with good headphones can bring music to life there is one thing I have only experienced with live music. What happens is after listening for a while I will suddenly become aware of where I am. It is like I "went somewhere" (in my mind or being) for a brief time while sitting there and then I come back. I know I am not falling asleep because I would be snoring and that would be noticed. Did you ever ask yourself while driving "how did I get here?" because you don't remember driving the last "x" miles, kind of a Steven Wright experience. I think Steven is like that all the time! If you're into religious study you can get the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, Buddhism, and Hinduism for the iPod. If your version of "altered reality" includes the Underground or Subways you can get subway maps for over 20 world cities for your iPod at iSubwayMaps.com You can also listen to inspirational speeches given by some of the greatest minds in the 20th Century, like JFK, FDR, MLK, Lou Gehrig, Ursula Le Guin, Abbott & Costello, and more at the MSU Vincent Voice Library (categories & URL links). More rhetoric listed here.
iPod Video You can put your DVD's on your iPod using Instant HandBrake for Mac (soon for Windows), the free DVD-MPEG-4 ripper, you can choose MPG4 (for PSP), AVC/H.264/AAC. MacTheRipper, a DVD backup utility that you can rip DVDs to your computer (saves battery on laptops) then copy to the iPod. Mac users can also add ID's to video files like Titles, Season or Episode metadata using (oddly named) "Parsley Is Atomically Delicious." To download and play YouTube and other online videos you can find converters at versiontracker for PC and Mac. I tried a few and picked PodTube. It uses Mac's Safari. You just go to the YouTube, DailyMotion or MySpace video you want to download, let it play through, then click Get Video. It will download and convert the .flv file to .mp4 (I learned to quit & restart PodTube v2 between downloads to avoid it hanging). iPod Personal Video Viewers Two eyewear products available for the iPod are the myvu personal media viewer from Micro Optical and the Icuiti DV920. The myvu is unique in that it allows you to be aware of your surroundings while viewing. The DV920 is a portable home theater for your iPod - your iPod's virtual 42" screen. WOW! This summer I will be getting a iPod Video iPod Audio Podcasting
